What to expect at your first appointment?

At your first session, you’ll be asked to fill in a simple medical and personal history form (or you can download, fill in, and email this back to me before the session). We will then discuss your symptoms, your goals for treatment, and any questions you have. MFR is performed as a ‘skin-on-skin’ treatment so I will ask you to remove clothing from the areas to be treated and to lie on the treatment table. I will cover you with a blanket making sure that you are warm and comfortable. Treatment can be received in your underwear or in shorts and a crop top if you prefer. Sessions typically last for an hour, with at least 50 minutes of ‘hands-on’ time on the treatment table.

How many sessions will I need?

You can expect to feel some relief after just one or two sessions, but everyone is different.  It very much depends on what you present with and how long you have had the condition.  For those with chronic symptoms I suggest a review after the fourth appointment to asses your progress and review treatment goals. The number of treatments you need is unique to you and will depend on things like how long you’ve been experiencing your symptoms and what is currently going on in your life. If either of us feels that this work is not right for you, I am always happy to recommend other kinds of treatment - my goal is to support you to find what works best for you.

How often will I need to come for treatments?

This is really up to you. Initially I recommend weekly appointments and after reviewing your progress we agree the frequency of future appointments. Most often clients choose to continue with fortnightly then monthly appointments for ongoing support, to stay balanced and to manage the demands of their lives. It really depends on your individual circumstances.  My remit is to help you deal with the symptoms you have been experiencing weather they are pain- or movement-related and, if they can’t be alleviated, to teach you ways to ensure they are less of an intrusion in your life.

What should I wear?

Treatment can be received in your underwear or in shorts and a crop top if you prefer. 

 Fees

The cost is £50 for each 1-hour session, which usually includes 50 minutes of hands-on time. You can pay by cash or cheque.   I also offer popular treatment packages.   A 90-minute treatment costs £70.  A Treatment Package of 4 sessions booked and paid for in advance: £190. Combined yoga and MFR one to one to facilitate flexibility: Price on application

Rescheduling, cancellations and late arrivals

Because I value our time together and your session time is set aside just for you, I require at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel appointments. Without adequate notice, you will be charged the full session fee for a missed session, or it will count as one of your sessions in a treatment package. Please aim to arrive on time or a few minutes early to your appointment. Should you be late, we will work with the time remaining and you will be charged the full session fee. 

Where will the appointment be?

I work from a practice room in my home on Baslow Road in Eastbourne.  There is on-street parking. When you book a first appointment, I’ll send you an email with further details and directions.
